My name is Courtney and I am currently doing the Whole30. If you don’t know much about it, it’s pretty much an attempt to eat natural, unprocessed foods for a month (you can read more about it here). I first heard about the Whole30 from one of my coworkers. My first thought was “There’s no way I could do this for a whole month!” I mean, I’m not trying to lose weight and I already eat healthy most of the time. I exercise almost daily and overall, I’m pretty healthy. But I like a challenge and, after some convincing from my coworkers, and a lot of research and preparation, I decided to try it (I also convinced my mom and sister to do it with me!).
So June 1-30, I am living the Whole30 life! I think the hardest part about starting in summer will be going to graduation parties (I have 3 of them this month), barbecues and other parties. But with the support of my coworkers, family and friends, I think I can make it through this (I am feeling optimistic today. Ask me again tomorrow.).
One thing I found helpful during my research was reading other peoples’ experiences with the program. So, this is my experience. Hopefully it can help someone out there, too!
